Pow-Pow-Power Wheels

I loved when I was a little girl and the JCPenney catalog would come in the mail. I would take it and flip through every page, circling the things I might put on my list for Santa. The Toys "R" Us catalog came this week and I gave it to Hayden to circle her favorite things...I thought she would enjoy that. Unfortunately the one thing she circled was the Cadillac Escalade Powerwheels. Ummmm, sorry honey, but Santa bought a house this year and won't be buying any Escalades for a long, long time!!!!

Tanaka Farms

Hayden is in a co-op preschool and Thursday we took the kids to a pumpkin patch in Irvine. It was so much fun!

Proof the boys were there. They love to run and jump and play but they are getting more teeth and have had colds so they were totally content in the stroller and the fruit roll-ups didn't hurt...thanks Shaylyn!

Hayden and her friend Brynlee.

Some of the class.I swear she was having a good time even though she is giving me "the look".

I was at the store this morning while Hayden was at preschool and a woman who worked at the store came over and looked and the boys and "oohed" and "aahed". Then she said, "Are they girls?" WHAT? When Hayden was a baby, she had no hair and could pass for a boy but my goodness they are 20 months old and ALL BOY!!!! Holy crap is all I have to say to that lady!

Day trip to LA

Last Friday I took the kids up to Los Angeles to visit some friends. We were fortunate enough to make some wonderful friends while living in LA. We miss you all so much and are grateful we can visit often...unless you are one of those punks who decided to move to Florida or Illinois or somewhere else far away...you know who you are!!!!

Ouch!

I was running errands the other day while Hayden was at preschool. The boys and I came home to put the groceries away before we had to pick Hayden up. I was going to be a few minutes so I got the boys out of the car. They both were in the house while I was going back and forth between the car and the kitchen. I didn't know Spencer had gone out to the garage (Hayden usually helps me keep the boys occupied while I do this) and he put his hands in the grill of the car...remember I had been running errands all morning so it was HOT...poor guy burned his hand. Thanks goodness he is still our happy guy...this is his new smile!

Spencer's Joyride

Grocery store trips are always a bit of an adventure. This week I went to Von's with all the kids like normal. The boys get in the car part of the cart and Hayden rides up in the cart. Without fail, one of the boys hits, kicks, or bites the other one and he loses his turn in the car. Things were going smoothly until Spencer decided to reach his hand out while I stopped so Hayden could show me the princess Spaghettios. He grabbed a glass jar of salsa and CRASH, it broke on the ground. A very nice bagger came and cleaned it up. Then on this trip, Lincoln bit Spencer so Lincoln lost his turn in the car. I was trying to hurry because things really weren't going well. I purchased all the groceries and headed to the van. I leaned the cart against the bumper and Hayden got out of the car and into our van, I got Lincoln out of the cart and into the van...when I returned to the back of the van, the cart was gone. I looked around and realized to my horror that the cart was 30 feet away and rolling across the parking lot...with Spencer still inside. I ran as fast as I could and grabbed the cart. My heart was racing! Spencer was totally oblivious to the danger and looked at me like he was upset that I had stopped his fun. These kids are going to be the end of me!

Double the Pleasure, Double the Fun! (Double the Poopy Diapers)

Two years ago today is when Joey and I found out we were having twins. I was 18 weeks pregnant and, ultimately had the boys at 35 weeks. After we found out about the boys we quickly moved to a bigger apartment, got a bigger car, bought double of everything and tried to prepare our minds for two babies...Here is my journal entry from that day:

"Yesterday was one of the best and most shocking days of my life. Joey and I went to the doctor hoping to find out if we were having a boy or girl. As the doctor was performing the ultrasound, a funny look crossed her face and she asked if we had already had an ultrasound. I said no and asked if she saw two babies in there...as a joke. She replied by asking if twins ran in either of our families. She saw two babies!!!! Both boys!!! Holy cow!!! We are having twins. We had to go back to the hospital last night to do a more detailed ultrasound to make sure the boys were in separate sacs and that they were healthy. Everything looked great and we were very relieved. Had there only been one sac, many complications could occur, so the fact that they are in separate sacs is huge. There is only one placenta so chances are they are identical, but we can't say for sure. We have decided to name them Lincoln Joseph and Spencer Robert. I'm so excited and overwhelmed. I know Heavenly Father will help me do this. I know Joey is a wonderful supportive husband who will be there for me. I know Hayden is the sweetest girl in the world and will be my little helper. I have the support of family and friends. we have a lot to do to get ready for these little guys!!!! This better be the biggest surprise these two little boys ever throw my way!!!! I love them already and look forward to having our family grow."

Spence and Link have been a huge blessing to our family. I'm so thankful for my little boys! I am grateful to be a mom and have the opportunity to learn everyday from my little angels. (FYI...they are identical if you didn't know).

Happy Birthday Lizard!

Today is my older sister's birthday! Liz is such an amazing person and I love her so much. I have always looked up to her. She is so talented...she sings, she plays the piano, she writes, I could go on and on!

Three years ago I was able to surprise Liz for her birthday. We had just moved to LA in June and my sister-in-law was throwing Liz a fiesta-themed party in Utah where all my siblings lived. I made the invitations and told Liz that was my contribution...what she didn't know was that my sister-in-law and I had been scheming for weeks to try to get me out there. I flew out to Utah with Hayden and when Liz knocked on the door to come into the party, I opened the door. It was a perfect moment and the best surprise! Someday I will do it again:)

I love you!!!!
